Ocean bottom seismic
The seismic acquisition technique ocean bottom seismic is used in marine conditions to acquire seismic data. These cables are laid on the ocean floor where they record seismic data. Ocean bottom cables are used in many different industries like the oil industry. These cables are more expensive than streamers typically used in research by other industries. Ocean bottom cables are an assembly of geophones and hydrophones attached to an electrical wire and placed at the bottom of the ocean. Seismic waves will reflect and refract off the seafloor, and geophone and hydrophone on the seafloor will record the data.
